I Think This is Bogus

http://personals.aol.com/articles/2009/06/02/using-tv-to-improve-your-marriage

Okay so I'm no expert on marriages. I have never been in a marriage or even been close enough to commit myself that far. However, I have a basic understanding of people that cannot be denied which leads me to disagree with this article.

People are simple. People live and do things. The thing that makes people special is that people think. People think about everything they do (some people think about it longer which does not mean they come up with the right decision). It's a constant struggle of needs and wants, knowing and not-knowing, standing-out and blending-in.

How are we best to understand a person? Well, some people like to look at the things they do and interpret them accordingly. He likes to play sports so he is into games. She attends church so she believes in god. All of these presumptions are false. Why a person does something, or believes something is a choice the person has made. What if she attends church because she is forced to by her parents, then the presumption she believes in god may not be correct.

Who knows you better than yourself? Look, contrary to popular belief, but you have spent your whole life with you. Your remember what you find important. If what you find is important the bag that Paris Hilton wore, or the stat that reveals an insight to a sporting event, you will take into accordance what it is. You will remember it.

So this article places a general description on what people like to watch. If they like to watch comedies, then they like to laugh. If they watch sports then they like to finish goals. In general, people like to laugh to and complete goals. If anything, then everyone could do these things. Its easy to make these kind of ideas up. Applying a metaphor to life's instances is something that people have been doing for centuries. Look at the way historical events have been interpreted into luck of that "it was meant to happen."

What you can take that might have some merit is the suggestions if you do not have any idea of what to do. This would mean you are clueless. If anything, you can always blame the article if these suggestions do not work (and you'll see that it was not the article).
