2 Rappers I Wish Could Blow . . .

Why Joell Ortiz?- Well Joell to me, is an artist who still holds a level of integrity. He is very specific when he raps and represents a Latino in New York. Even though Fat Joe has had a brief moment of success, there has not been a Latino heavyweight in rap. He's silly and serious, "Chinese food is a gourmet meal, that General Tso's Chicken is always real." Its silly because you would never associate Chinese food as gourmet, but it also shows the affluence it holds in American culture specifically lower income neighborhoods. There are probably about 10 Chinese food places, each serving the same thing, within a 10 block radius of my house.

Why Papoose?- Papoose had a chance to blow. With the "Touch It (Remix)," he was the most hyped new New York rapper. What happened? He signed with J records and could not make a song worthy for the radio. And he tried, he made some horrible songs with Snoop Dogg, and Swiss Beatz. So, 1.5 million dollars and a few years later Papoose is back where he started all those years ago. It was before he flooded the mixtape scene with classic material. In my opinion Papoose is going to remain my favorite underground artist of this decade. Hopefully, he can find the magic again.

Oh, and there both from Brooklyn

  1. Both of these guys are pretty terrible, if you ask me.

  2. WHAT! The sarcasm is going to far. So I'll admit that Papoose does have bad material out there, but he is precise. And Joell Ortiz is hip hop.

  3. Everyone has their tastes. I just find them to be very boring.
