Brazil Smoking Ban Plan

So Brazil is like, "we want you to stop smoking now." This picture shows how the city of Sao Paolo is hoping to curb smoking in there city. The question is, "Will this work?"

Sao Paolo plays host to one of the largest populations for a city area in the world. The history of the city runs deep as over twenty million people live in the city. It is the most ethnically diverse city in Brazil. It is also hosts to many immigrant populations in the world. There are over 6 million Italians living the city.

For years, there have been many campaigns by different groups trying to stop the consumption of cigarettes. Who knows if they are working? The only thing that is known is that the media is supporting this public outcry. Michael Jackson had thousands of scenes in which he put out a cigarette in his video.

These pictures will be placed on a the labels of cigarettes in the city. I do not think that it will work. The problem with cigarettes is that it is an addiction. What should be done is a continual effort to get people to not start smoking cigarettes. This sounds impossible but the strategies of banning it in bars and in public parks is working. Its a social circumstance that starts the problem. There are packages of cigarettes that simply put says "Cigarettes can seriously harm you." Still people buy the cigarettes anyway. Placing these labels on packages is flooding it to look past it.
