Another Beef with Hip Hop- Common's Video

So, this is the main version of the video Universal Mind Control by Common. The video runs as a bunch of robots. The video plays as a music hip hop version of the Will Smith movie "I, Robot." It's futuristic, Hype Williams directed it, we get it.

Hype Williams will always be a better music video director than me. There is no doubt about it. However, this video makes the song whack. So we get it, there's cinematography, there's hidden messages. Yeah. But I don't mean to sound like a grumpy hip hop fan but, the video takes the song in a completely different direction.



What does this video do? This video relates this sound to hip hop. The main video is brighter. The dancing nothing spectacular, but its hot. Its no "Planet Rock" but it is good enough.
