Why MTV's Hottest MC's List Doesn't Suprise Me?

So the MTV Braintrust has let us down. MTV has slowly let out their 10 hottest MC's list and has managed to not only make huge disappointments, but help us further question the state of hip hop.

Here is number 6.

So, how do we pick out who is the hottest rappers currently? There are many ways in which we can say, this rapper is hotter and better than this one. What do you measure it off of? It is hard enough to pick one rapper and say that he or she is has something that other rappers do not. Not every rapper is lyrical or is able to create hip hop that is not washed down.

Why do I beef with this list so far? The issue comes to this. The state of hip hop is split. Hip hop is still one of the most popular forms of music out currently, but it has evolved into a form of music that does not make highly creative and innovative music. It is not hard to come up with a flow, understand everything that you say and presume you are the best. On the other hand, it is not hard to sit back and listen to what is currently around you.

The list itself, horrible. There is no way that Gucci Mane should even be allowed to be on this list along side rappers Raekwon and Fabolous. But guess who picked the list? MTV fans. The same people who watch "The Real World" and what use to be "TRL."

Here is number 8.

Here is number 10.
