Media connects people all over. What then happens is that the original message gets interpreted a certain way then becomes something else. So, things change. Evolution has always been a part of the human condition.

Who is original? Originality and creativity are two fuses on the same bomb. In a world with six billion people, how awkward is it when someone you do not know shares an idea with you but in a different way? Today we are connected by internet, television, travel? In terms of world history, it would be absurd to think that you can travel to China from the US in less than one day.

On a smaller scale, hip hop started out in the Bronx. It had many influences especially the style of dance that came with it. B-boy's look awkward. The dancing style is provocative, and it is not as literal as ballet.

New York started hip hop and some dances that came with it. On a national scale, the music became pop and it changed. Today, hip hop comes from all over. The Harlem style Hip Hop dance movement has been going on for years. It had some big hits including its most popular dance chicken noodle soup.

So here comes, this jerk movement. I hate to be biased but it looks a lot like kids getting 'lite.' Not to knock the style of dance at all, but there is no denying that it was influenced by New York. Maybe not directly, but in terms of popular culture, yeah.

What does it mean? New York influences American culture again.
